Wallpockets

Ever wondered what to do with your extra modelling materials? Need more storage space in your room? Well, here's a pretty good idea from Ampersand. The company is comprised of two fifth year industrial design students at the University of Cincinnati.

Those funky pentagon shaped things on the wall are called Wallpockets which are, as the name suggests, pockets. They're made of e-flute cardboard, shipped flat, & have an adhesive-free assembly.

The inspiration for Wallpockets were based on
"simple geometric shapes and the curious textures created by clusters of barnacles".

Just in case some of you are wondering, barnacles are crustaceans that have a hard shell and attach themselves to underwater surfaces such as rocks, under ships, whales etc.

These wallpockets can be placed anywhere on a wall, even over electrical sockets. This makes hiding those messy wires a bit easier whilst charging your electrical appliances (ie: phone, camera, mp3). As you can see, you can stuff all sorts of things in these wallpockets. May it be art supplies, guitar picks, clothes, notes and any other items you can think of.



They come in a variety of colours which help to brighten any plain old wall. It also helps to create some textural depth that invokes exploration.

Maybe it's time to re-look at those leftover materials in your room.
