Narveno Court

By : McBride Charles Ryan Architecture & Interior Design

Location : Australia

McBride Charles Ryan Architects have described this unusual suburban house located in Melbourne as " a sphere that has been burried and eroded at either end." By doing this, it plays around with the idea of being inside and out.

By extruding certain parts from the sphere they have created balconies and made interesting internal spaces. Large semi-circular arms of the house's exterior extend to the very end of the site signalling the boundaries.

The design is such that it is able to accommodate various amounts of people at various stages of its life may it be a family or a single person who has invited many guests.

Narveno Court won the 2005 RAIA Victorian Chapter Residential Architecture Award.
