Chiacchierata with Kevin Mark Low

Chiacchierata with Kevin Mark Low is a new event for the students of SABD to reach out and meet charismatic professional. ‘Chiacchierata’ which means chatting in Italian language is the closest connection intended to be sparked through the meeting between the two parties. Chatting is a casual activity, believed to be the best setting to trigger good quality sharing of information that benefits both parties.

Objectives
•  To reach out and learn real experiences from practicing architect in the industry
•  To have a clearer view on the divergence of path after University studies
•  To be inspired by charismatic architect
•  To create a culture of networking between students and professional
•  To develop communication skills with Professional
To expose architect with SABD Architecture Student’s work and experiences

We sincerely looking forward to your participation in this event that is going to held on 20th Oct, Block E2.05. ^.^

Sarapan SABD 1.0

Did you miss it or perhaps had a mighty breakfast on this day, 10th May 2012?

Well, SABD Student Society felt grateful for your active support on our FREE breakfast giveaway event. Within 30 minutes, over 200 curry puffs and hot drinks were given away.

We are pretty sure that some of you might ask 'why would SABD Student Society gives free food us? Isn't it the society knows only how to earn money from students?' From bottom of our heart, we do care of our fellow friends' welfare. We know that everyone is busy with either assignments, coursework or examinations and might not having breakfast in the morning. From this event, we do hope everyone can have their breakfast, sit back and chill for a while before filling their busy day with heavy workloads.

We are pretty positive looking forward to our next Sarapan SABD 2.0 >>> See you there.

NUS visits Taylors!

Hey everyone!

Architecture students from NUS visited Taylor's Lakeside on the 21st Feb. I know it has been a long while! Sorry for the late update.

It was a short visit which included a briefing as well as a campus tour. There were 20 NUS archi students and 2 lecturers.

5 student ambassadors from student society including Shing Yi, Veronica, Yu Min and Chun Pao attended, together with our society advisor, Ms. Alina.

Most of them were rather impressed by our campus design.

It was definitely a good opportunity for all of us as we got to meet and network with the NUS students.

The best lakeside view that i captured so far, I like the concept of having Greens and a lake in the midst of Buildings, it shows the relationship between the nature & buildings.

This is the one and only spot in campus that i curious about the most, whenever i pass by this spot, i will have a glance of it and funny thoughts will kick in, ' Are these needed for the building? ' , ' Why are they connected in such a funny way? ' , ' If this is used to support the roof, is a connection like this necessary? ' , i personally think all these curiosities are needed for me to keep my interest in architecture, .......one day..... i will find out why is it like this...... just wait :P

A photo of a part of a building that capture my attention when i first came to this uni, i personally think is really unique when there is a stretched out extension from the first floor, what makes it more outstanding is the wall that consist of glasses ,another part that capture my attention was the roof, the transparent part of the roof that allows the sunlight to shine in, it changes my old thoughts, i always think that the roof suppose to be a shield for the rain and the sunlight, but not anymore....
